Bill Schramm PhD
Meteorologist, Oceanographer
Bill Schramm was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and became a Naval aviator. He attended the Naval Postgraduate School twice in a Masters program and later in a Doctoral program, both in the fields of oceanography and meteorology. Retired as a Navy Captain and had a 2nd career working for the World Meteorological Organization which is a UN Agency. Retired from the UN and was hired to be the head of an office of the National Ocean Service, (part of NOAA). Retired from the federal civil service and joined the faculty of CSUMB as an adjunct professor teaching environmental science. In total he has over 10 years experience teaching environmental science at the university level and another 40 years working in various government organizations.
Schramm has spoken on subjects such as Global Climate Change, Human Impacts on the environment of Monterey Bay, various ocean science subjects (Marine Mammals, Sharks, etc). He has also spoken about the United Nations from the perspective of someone who has worked for the UN and on Naval History such as the Battle of Midway, the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
