This timely event is a must see for anyone living in the wildland/urban interface and everyone who wants to make an impact on our public policy. Find out what can be done now to prevent wildfires, and how neighborhood and individual action can reduce homeowners’ insurance costs.
Rob Thomson, wildlife ecologist, will speak to forest management practices. Film-maker Grant Barbieto will present a segment of his new wildfire film. A Monterey County Fire Chief will detail official actions being pursued locally. Physicist Dr. C. Michael Hogan, who publishes in the field of fire propagation, will present scientific facts that can increase fire prevention. Emily Aiken of the Santa Lucia Preserve, will discuss on the ground issues in fire prevention.
A wine reception follows the panel, offering a chance to meet the panelists.
A suggested donation of $20 at the door (cash or check) would be welcomed for the CASI Youth Scholarship Fund. Special thanks is extended to our generous wine sponsor, Galante Vineyards.
