Wave Street Studios: 774 Wave Street, Monterey

California Arts & Sciences Institute proudly presents a captivating live public event on November 19th at 3 pm, held at Wave Street Studios in Monterey. This unique gathering celebrates the fusion of diverse art forms, featuring five exceptional local artists who specialize in different mediums. This vibrant event will grant attendees a rare insight into the creative processes, raw materials, and inspirations that shape the world of these artists.

As the grand finale, the award-winning contemporary dance duo HURyCAN will grace the stage, demonstrating the intricate art of dance creation and inviting audience participation.

This event promises an immersive experience of cross-disciplinary collaboration, where the artists unite to craft something extraordinary. In the lead-up to the event, talented photographer Winston Boyer will capture the essence of the dancers through photography, providing inspiration for accomplished painter Jennifer Perlmutter, who will unveil her original HURyCAN artwork on November 19th. Ashley Bennett Stoddard will share how this collaborative experience influences her sculpture creation. Renowned dance producer Lillian Barbeito will illuminate the different ways Carmel Dance Festival choreographers utilize raw materials to choreograph breathtaking performances, while Co-Director of HURyCAN, Arthur Bernard Bazin, invites audience members to step into his creative process. Visionary filmmaker Grant Barbieto will document this collaborative journey, capturing every moment from the initial photo shoot to the live event on November 19th.

Join us to become part of this once-in-a-lifetime artistic collaboration and have the opportunity to connect with the artists and dancers during the wine and cheese reception. Tickets are $30.
