Mind and Heart: As We Age
Presenting:
Dr. Quinn Kennedy, Cognitive Aging Research Psychologist
Dr. Yousef Hindi, Cardiologist
The California Arts and Sciences Institute (CASI) hosts a live presentation on the expected effects on our minds and hearts as we progress in age. Drs Quinn Kennedy and Yousef Hindi will share knowledge in their specialties by discussing how the mind and heart often work in tandem – what’s good for the heart is good for the mind. During this panel discussion, they will illuminate warning signs, and also preventative strategies to elongate our health spans. Topics covered will include insights on nutrition, exercise and sleep regimens, and will give you some unexpected action items that may surprise you. Although alcohol will also be a topic, CASI will serve red and white wine during our mingling period after the presentation. Dr. Kennedy has 20+years of research experience in investigating factors that affect older adults’ decision making, memory, and performance. With her collaborators, her work has been featured on NPR, The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Science. Dr.Hindi will address cardiology issues both as to warning signs and preventative measures. Both will address the synergism of heart health and brain lifespan.
