On February 14th at 11:30 am, The Epoch Times Insider Series will host a live event at the Irvine Auditorium featuring scientific analysis of lithium ion battery technology and the resultant health and safety risks along with economic consequences to ratepayers and taxpayers. There will be a detailed analysis of policy alternatives including the optimum electric grid input power mix. Major attention will be given to specific human health risks from battery plant explosions and long term heavy metal carcinogenic impacts to agricultural soils.
Details will be given of the chemical health impacts to residents within at least twenty miles of the Moss Landing battery plant in January, 2026. In addition the chemical contamination of agricultural soils within that twenty mile range will be set forth, with emphasis upon cobalt and nickel toxicity and uptake by agricultural species. Furthermore the grid incompatibilities with battery plants and offshore wind will be documented to reveal the economic inefficiencies of battery technology.
Speakers will be Dr. Michael Hogan and Ronald Stein, who are both experts in air pollution chemistry as well as national energy policy analysis. Stein has authored numerous books on global energy poverty and best steps forward to advance underdeveloped nations from energy policy. Hogan has authored dozens of peer reviewed scientific articles on lithium ion battery technology, offshore wind, solar, nuclear and natural gas power plants.
Expert journalists from Epoch Times will interview the two speakers, and the event will be filmed by Epoch Times, and made available for subsequent online viewing. This event will be a joint production by the California Arts and Sciences Institute and the Epoch Times. The event will qualify for free admission to CASI Gold, Platinum and Philanthropic Level Founders, as well as any CASI Members who have not yet used their annual ticketed events entitlements.
