Join us on Monday, April 28th as we welcome our next distinguished CASI panel for a subject we can all sink our teeth into, nutrition! There are so many points of view on what diets are trendy, healthy, accessible, available, and can keep us healthy. Our conversation will serve to address some of these viewpoints but also go deeper into the importance of how antioxidants, vitamins & minerals, exercise, sleep, and hydration all contribute to decreasing inflammation in our bodies and how everyone necessitates unique interpretation.

Our science-based discussions will bring some insights into the differences in international and regional diets and the roles of food as medicine. We are what we eat after all! We include data on which regions provide the healthiest people with impressive longevity. Specific antioxidants, and other nutrient components with disease prevention, and beneficial cognitive aging results will be presented. We also look at the role of ultra processed foods as contributors to health outcomes. Ideas will be presented for optimum sourcing of foods and lifestyle choices that maximize ease of use and time efficiency, while encouraging and developing good nutritional habits.

Panelists will include experts in nutrition, fitness, the food industry and on the chemistry of nutrients in our food: including nutritionist Jennifer Nader and food/fitness expert Penelope Wasserman.  Our food choices are some of the most important choices we make in life. This panel will help you navigate those choices and learn more about who, what, and why the choices we have influence our decision-making processes about our diets and those we love. Complimentary wine, non alcoholic beverages and light appetizers will be served. This event will be conjoined with the monthly CASI Youth Mentoring and will be the turn-in date for student art submittals and writing contest submittals. The event is without cost to students and teachers.
