Claudia Worthington HessCalifornia Arts and Sciences Institute (CASI) presents a Members Only Winter Gala on investing in art and gold on January 11. The featured speaker is eminent art appraiser Claudia Worthington Hess, who will discuss methods of selecting art for investment. She will discuss historically important art as well as contemporary art. Hess belongs to the Appraisers Association of America, and is a certified fine art appraiser.

Hess not only provides discreet,  independent information to clients throughout the USA and in Canada on insurance, donation and estate appraisals. She also consults on art buying, selling and collecting. She is the only Personal Property Appraiser with an MBA, who  is fluent in French and German and conversational in Spanish. Previously, Hess worked in the art world on the gallery side for over 25 years, thus having contacts in the local to blue chip art market coast to coast. Her acumen is critical  for performing high net worth art appraisals and art consulting. She is current with USPAP and continually learns and travels to stay abreast of art trends and valuation information.

An ancillary presentation will be given by Dr. C. Michael Hogan, who is an expert on gold investing. He will cover alternative methods of addressing gold, including: bullion, numismatic coins, ETF instruments, gold mining companies and options trading to leverage these investments.
