The California Arts & Sciences Institute (CASI) will host a gala awards ceremony on August 9th to celebrate the talented young artists of Coastal California. Our youth artists have produced phenomenal works in painting, photography, sculpture, drawing and other media to express their experiences of the flora and fauna of our Central Coast. The exhibition itself will include 30 of the top submittals and will reside in the Chapman Gallery of Carmel’s Sunset Center for most of the month of August. But, the evening of August Ninth (from 5 to 7), when the ceremony itself will take place; this event is especially to honor the students, their families and teachers who participated in the contest. Three cash scholarships will be awarded Aug. 9th, including the First Prize of $1500.
Deep creativity and excellence is alive on our California Coast; you are invited to come out to applaud our young artists and see their works. Stay tuned for the coming 2024-25 Art and Science Contest, which will launch immediately after August 9th; that next contest is sponsored by Carmel Gives, and we are thankful for their generosity.
At the Aug 9th ceremony, we shall introduce the CASI team who mentored students and presented in classrooms, and also give a giant shout-out to the dozens of teachers who made this contest a huge success. Most importantly we will honor all the student participants; besides the cash awards, five other submitting students will receive honorable mention awards. The event is at no cost, and light refreshments will be served.
